Lake Tiberias
Winter 2016
Collaboration project with Jonatan Ben Shaul

The project is located on an artificial island in the heart of Tiberias lake. The building serves as a museum for marine life. Its envelope is designed using prefabricated construction, that includes curtain walls and a steel beams system.
The building is designed in a radial scheme, divided into three spaces with different sizes, taking the visitors on a tour from the biggest space to the smallest.
The rounded steel beams are the repetitive main design element. Their visible placement and the different ceiling height is emphasized as a bridge between the different spaces.
The building’s facade is covered in OSB panels and aluminum panels. Our goal is to create a unified, glazed surface, that creates further divisions beyond the ones created by the beams system.
The interior layer of the walls is made of gypsum, in order to create a white clean exhibition space preventing distraction.
The building has two giant curtain walls emphasizing the entrance and exit. The movement through the building follows its spiral shape, starting from the big curtain wall and ending in the small one. The bridges between the different spaces are connected through a clearstory.
